Ver todos los detallesThe Transmission Valve Body is a critical part of an automatic transmission, typically made of aluminum, and functions as the "conductor" of the transmission. It controls the flow of transmission fluid (ATF) to various valves and channels, which in turn manage gear shifts.
How it works: The valve body operates through a series of valves that open and close to direct ATF to the appropriate areas for gear changes. Solenoids, controlled by the car’s Electronic Control Unit (ECU), activate different circuits for this process.
Components:
-
Hydraulic block: Houses all the valves, solenoids, and channels.
-
Valves: Control fluid flow, including change, pressure, and acceleration valves.
-
Solenoids: Receive signals from the ECU to open or close valves.
-
Channels: Allow fluid to flow efficiently.
-
Springs: Ensure a tight seal on valves.
-
Sensors: Provide data to the ECU for precise gear control.
-
Check balls: Prevent reverse fluid flow.
Main Valve Types:
-
Pressure-regulating valves: Control hydraulic fluid pressure.
-
Gear-change valves: Direct fluid to clutch and belts for gear shifts.
-
Directional control valves: Manage fluid direction.
Types of Valve Bodies:
-
Hydraulic valve body: A mechanical system controlled by hydraulic pressure.
-
Electronic valve body: Modern systems using solenoids, sensors, and ECU for more precise gear shifts.
